While still a small minority, campers are more likely to own an electric vehicle than those who don’t go camping, according to a survey by Kampgrounds of America, the nation’s largest campground operator. Only about 1% of Americans currently have an electric vehicle, according to KOA, but about 4% of regular campers do. “We’ve had customers cross coasts, all the way up to Canada, all the way across Canada and back down, all with an electric vehicle,” said Bowlus CEO Geneva Long. Courtesy RivianThe physical layout of most EV chargers can be a challenge for campers. The vast majority of EV chargers are placed at the ends of parking spaces so vehicles have to either pull in, nosing the front bumper up to the charger, or reverse back in.

Feathery flakes had fallen the last 16 hours, luring every powderhound in a 100-mile radius. Given how remote this place is, that means maybe 300 skiers and snowboarders. With no wind the snow crystals had stacked up along the spindly hardwood limbs in lines as delicate as a haiku. Indeed, Hokkaido, Japan, might be the only other place I’ve ever skied that could match these conditions. To those in the know, this ski area, seven-hours from the closest major airport in Minneapolis-St. Paul, is legendary.

I was in the office alone on a Saturday, muddling through, when Paul walked in. Staggered shifts meant we rarely arrived together, and by the end of the night, everyone was too exhausted to notice when we left in the same car. Late-night games meant some shifts didn't end until very early in the morning. That fight confirmed that our relationship was strong enough to survive shift work. Nearly 18 years later, I have no regrets about my office romance.

GOOD MATERIAL, by Dolly AldertonAndy, the 35-year-old struggling comedian who narrates most of Dolly Alderton’s new novel, “Good Material,” has been freshly dumped by his ex, Jen, for mysterious reasons. Like Rob in Nick Hornby’s “High Fidelity,” an obvious inspiration, Andy knows his relationship had its problems. In the process, maybe he can get to the bottom of why the rest of his life has derailed, too. His friends won’t meet for impromptu drinks because they have to get up early to take care of their children. In “Good Material,” as in all of her writing, Alderton excels at portraying nonromantic intimate relationships with tenderness and authenticity.

Only after he was awkwardly pulled aside on stage and informed that he was in Sioux City did he make a correction. Trump's Sioux flub caught the attention of Florida Gov. “I don’t think he’s senile. A Trump spokesperson noted that Trump hasn’t criticized Biden directly on age, and Trump has long argued that Biden's problem isn't actually his age but his mental state. But when a reporter noted Trump’s actual age, neither woman saw it as problem.

The Moon crosses in front of the Sun over Albuquerque, New Mexico, during an annular eclipse on October 14, 2023. Cheers erupted among crowds in Oregon and New Mexico on Saturday as a rare "ring of fire" eclipse of the sun that had millions across the Americas waiting with anticipation began putting on a spectacular show. Clouds and fog threatened to obscure the view of the eclipse in some western states, including California and Oregon. Unlike a total solar eclipse, the moon doesn't completely cover the sun during a ring of fire eclipse. Saturday's path: Oregon, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Texas in the U.S., with a sliver of California, Arizona and Colorado.

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former biotech executive Vivek Ramaswamy, U.S. It was a clear reflection of how illegal immigration and border security are among the top concerns for Republican primary voters. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said he would send the National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border “on Day One." That didn’t stop Christie from trying a little humor himself in blasting Trump for skipping the debate. There were some hoots but more moans from the audience, likely because much of the crowd, like the Republican Party, was comprised of voters who like Trump.

In 1996, he released his solo debut, “Bandera,” named for the Texas Hill Country town where his family has had a ranch for generations. Known as a “play signal,” mammalian laughter accompanies playful interactions to signal harmless intentions and keep the play going. And laughter is an essential feature of human social interactions. For humans, laughter has expanded from its original function as a play signal to serve a variety of social functions. I suspect people borrow and transform the play signal of laughter to influence situations that, on their face, have nothing to do with play. All laughter serves genuine social functions, helping you navigate complex social interactions.

A viral tweet falsely claimed Hooters is shutting down and rebranding to appeal to millennials. "There is no validity to this story," Hooters of America said in a statement shared with Insider. The tweet — posted by Daily Loud, a website focused on hip-hop and viral news — claimed Hooters "was shutting down and 'rebranding' after a new study found that millennials 'aren't that into boobs.'" The 2017 study by Pornhub found younger people were less likely to search for breasts on pornography websites. After a series of viral TikTok videos shared by staffers, Hooters adjusted its policy to make the new uniforms optional.
